St. Thomas Community Health Center now offers comprehensive primary and selected specialty care. In addition to comprehensive adult primary care and preventive medicine, we offer full time pediatric services.
The clinic is the CDC funded Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program for the metro New Orleans area. Services for this program include breast exams, mammography, gynecologic exams, and colposcopy. Morehouse School of Medicine supports Pap smears and HPV testing.
With support of the EENT Foundation, the clinic offers Optometry and specialty referral for Ophthalmologic and Ear Nose and Throat problems.
Through the support of Morehouse School of Medicine, and the Association of Black Cardiologists, the clinic was able to begin offering consultations in Cardiovascular Health, Cardiology consultation, and non-invasive testing. These efforts have been joined by several other providers and we now offer more frequent and comprehensive consultations and non invasive testing procedures.
Specialists from LSU School of Medicine provide consultations in Rheumatology and Pulmonary Medicine.
We are in the process of remodeling space, and developing the programs to soon offer culturally sensitive, community based support for mental health issues.
